What we hold, and why
Last updated 24 September 2026.
Tapka sells a physical NFC card that points at a web page you control. Two different people show up in this system — the person who owns a card, and the person who taps it — and we treat them very differently.
If you tap someone's card
You don't have to give us anything. Tapping a card opens a web page. We don't ask you to sign in, we don't set advertising cookies, and we don't build a profile of you.
Our servers record ordinary web request data — IP address, browser type, time — as any web server does. It is used to keep the service running and to spot abuse, not to identify you.
If you save a card to Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or your contacts, that copy lives on your device and is between you and your phone.
If you own a card
You give us, and we store:
- What you put on the card — name, role, company, email, phone, website, social links, a short note
- Any photo or artwork you upload for the card
- Your order details, including the address we ship to
- Your email address, so we can send your order and your edit link
Everything on your card is public by design. Anyone who taps the card, or knows its link, can read it. Please don't put anything there you wouldn't hand to a stranger.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers — we receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, plus the billing and shipping details needed to send your order.
Who else sees it
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and the database
- Stripe — processes payments
- Apple and Google — only if you add a card to their wallet, and only the details printed on that pass
We do not sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your card stays until you delete it. That's the point — it should outlast the job you ordered it for.
- Cards you collect from others, if you use our app, expire automatically after 30 days unless you choose to keep them.
- Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Changing or deleting your card
The link in your order email lets you edit your card at any time, with no account or password. Treat it like a password — anyone with it can edit your card.
To delete your card and the data on it, emailprivacy@tapka.app. Deleting a card stops its link resolving, so the physical card will no longer open anything.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to a copy of your data, to correct it, or to object to how we use it. Ask at the same address.
Children
Tapka is meant for professional use and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and email card owners.
